Waste bowl, c.1780, with the arms of Stevenson on both sides beneath the initials A.S. Made for a son or grandson of Dr (Sir) Archibald Stevenson of Edinburgh, a founding member of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh, who was granted these arms in 1673.
