Teapot stand, Yongzheng c.1725, with the arms of Wynne impaling Gosling
These are the arms of Wynne of Garthewin, descended from the founder of the Eighth Noble Tribe of Wales. This service was made for Robert Wynne, only son of the Revd. Robert Wynne, DD, of Garthewin, Chancellor of St Asaph, who rebuilt the 17th century house in 1710.
Robert Wynne was born in 1698 and this was almost certainly the wedding service for his marriage to the twenty-year old Diana Gosling of London, for which family several services were made.
