Fine plate, Yongzheng c.1730, from the well-documented service with the arms of Izod in a lozenge or diamond shape for a lady.
For the family of William Izod of Chapel Izod, Co. Kilkenny, who was succeeded in his estates by his niece and eventual heiress Elizabeth Izod.
Provenance : Being sold on behalf of the Phil Cooke Collection. The reverse with labels for P.B. Cooke No. 64, and a hand-written sales label by Cecil Bullivant. A very early acquisition by Phil Cooke and recorded as purchased from Bullivant in 1927 — thus held for almost a century in the Cooke family.
